Records Management at SC State is designed to help staff, faculty, and administrators:

 

  • Evaluate whether to retain, destroy or archive university records using the General Records & Retention Schedule for State Colleges and Universities and related forms.
  • Manage SC State records in a way that insures compliance with relevant state and federal laws. 
  • Organize records in an efficient manner, reducing their volume in university offices

 

Records Management Website

The Records Management website contains important information to help departments evaluate documents.  It also contains forms and contact information for document destruction and transfers.

SC State's records retention policy is based upon the Records Retention Manual published by the South Carolina Department of Archives and History.
